There are 8 billiard balls, and one of them is slightly heavier, but the only way to tell was by putting it on a weighing scale against another. What’s the fewest number of times you’d have to use the scale to find the heavier ball?

first 4 balls in each
then from that we could find which four contains the heavy one so again weigh by putting 2 each thn from that put 1 each

It takes jus '2' steps.....
(i)First weigh 3 balls in each side. if de heavy one is present among them, then take de set of 3 balls which is heavier than de other set.
(ii)take 2 among those three balls and place them on each side again.now u can easily find de heavy ball.
in case at de 1st attempt if both de set (3 balls) are equal in wt ,then de heavy ball is among de other two ... jus weigh them on each side in ur 2nd attempt and now u have de odd one out!!!!!!
